Both Xara & S.Chu have extensive backgrounds in the music industry.

S.Chu comes from a background of musicians and producers and has worked with many well known artists across the board.

Xara is a professional vocalist/songwriter of 10yrs, also qualified in sound engineering, has had mass success with the hit single ‘Complete’, featured on the Jaimeson album. She has worked on multiple projects with various artists ranging from writing, arranging and singing and like S.Chu knows a little something about creating a big tune!

There is no doubt in my mind that we will need to watch out for their future releases in 2009…

# 20 Attacca Pesante Production - ‘Make It Funky’

Hailing from South London AP Beats are a pair of talented up and coming producers doing there thing in the UK.

With an early upbringing into music it was only a matter of time before they developed their passion into a full-time business.

In 2001 they joined together and created Attacca Pesante and promptly started producing tracks for artists in the South London area. Over time their hobby became serious and they started producing tracks for
well known artists. Producers Zack B and Dean both have a different background in music which allows them to produce different genres such as Funky House, Hip-Hop, RnB, and Soul.

Their track “Make It Funky” is doing big things right now on the Funky House scene and I think it is massive - have a listen.

# 19 Zarif - Let Me Back (Acoustic Version)

23 year old Zarif was born and raised in London to Iranian/Jewish parents. She has been described as a cross between Nikka Costa and Amy Winehouse off the back of appearing as a guest vocalist on 3 tracks on the critically acclaimed album by the Nextmen. She spent the summer on the road with them performing at Glastonbury, Fabric live, Cargo and Get Loaded in the Park.

I had heard lots about this lady and finally got to see her perform live when we hosted the London Week Of Peace event this year. Zarif is amazing and has a voice sweeter than Cool-aid with added sugar.

Her label gave me this exclusive acoustic recording of Zarif singing her track “Let Me Back” have a listen…

# 18 Meleka – Go

This is NU MUZIK…

Meleka is the singer/songer writer from North-West London who became the winner of HUGO URBAN RULES 2008

She won the chance to support Estelle recently plus got to record a single with full record label backing. Her influences include Judy Garland, Fred Astaire, India Arie, Wayne Marshall, George Michael and Stevie Wonder which is reflected by her soulful voice which is presented in a R’n’B/Pop fashion with a touch of Jazz flavour. Her debut single is called “Go” and includes mixes from Booda Bassline, Crazy Cousinz ( Bongo Jam) Diamond, Sid Mercutio and Doug McCourt. Artist Neon Hitch (which is her birth name) is a wild gypsy singer/songwriter who prefers to live spontaneously.

Since the age of 11 she has been writing lyrics inspired by the everyday life she leads.

Neon has lived all over the world but now lives in between London and Brooklyn.

Currently working she is working on an album with Benny Blanco in New York so watch this space! I really love her sound and quirky style plus she has some interesting videos on her MySpace page too…

Let me introduce to you Ms Cherri V!! She is the former member of Sony/BMG’s much hyped, three piece girl group Trinity Stone!! The group hit the airwaves with a hot collaboration, ‘Real Love‘ featuring U.S Grammy award winner Neyo and had the opportunity of working with many U.S and U.K producers/songwriters including Cee-lo of Gnarls Barkley!!!!

Cherri V recently stepped out as a solo artist working with one of the hottest producers in the game, H-money who produced her track ‘Favorite Guy‘ and is also responsible for churning out remixes for Kelly Rowland, Jamelia, Craig David, Nate James and the Lox to name a few.

Cherri’s forthcoming album is a cross between three different genres of music… a blend of R’n'B, Pop and influences of rock music. Definitely not your ‘typical’ U.K R’n'B chick!!!!!

#13 Lonyo – ‘Go Down’

Since releasing classic garage tracks “Summer Of Love“, “Garage Girls” and “Destiny“, Lonyo has been busy working behind the scenes setting up independent label COOLKIDD ENTERTAINMENT.

Coolkidd Entertainment was established in 2003 by Rodney Kingsley and Lonyo Engele. Coolkidd Entertainment was initially set up as a production company, which formed a platform to nurture and develop some of the best UK producers and writers. Since then the company has worked on certain projects for independent and major record labels, such as Sony, Universal and Virgin to mention a few. They have worked with many artists including Missy Elliot, Shaggy, 3LW, Naughty by Nature, Black Twang, Nate James, Vula, Bashy, Jin, Def 1, Keith Sweat and Akon.

Lonyo is also part of Bon Garcon who made the track “Freek You” which was very popular in the dance charts and featured the vocals of Vula from Basement Jaxx.
Lonyo is back with a new sound and signed to Coolkidd Entertainment. Check out his most recent work “Go Down” which is a catchy electro house track set to take over in the clubs!! Remember where you heard it first.
